  1. 3 cups sugar

  2. 3/4 cup margarine

  3. 1 small (5 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk

  4. 1 12-ounce package semi-sweet chocolate chips

  5. 1 7-ounce jar marshmallow creme

  6. 1 cup chopped nut s, optional

  7. 1 teaspoon vanilla

  1. Combine sugar, margarine and milk in heavy 2-½ to 3 quart saucepan; bring to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Continue boiling 5 minutes over medium heat or until candy thermometer reaches 234°, stirring constantly to prevent scorching. Remove from heat; stir in chocolate chips until melted. Add marshmallow creme, nuts and vanilla; beat until well blended. Pour into a greased 13x9x2 inch pan. Cool at room temperature; cut into squares.
