  1. 3 pounds chopped raw beef

  2. 1/4 pound of minced salt pork

  3. 1 cup fine cracker crumbs

  4. 2 teaspoons each salt and pepper

  5. 2 beaten eggs

  6. 1 teaspoon onion juice

  7. 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  8. 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening, melted

  1. Instructions Mix together all ingredients except the vegetable shortening. Work in the melted shortening. Pack mixture into a loaf pan or mold. Cover and set in a roasting pan of boiling water Cook in a medium oven for 2 hours or until juice runs clear when pierced with a knife. Serve with brown sauce.
