  1. 2 broiler/fryer chicken (2 to 3 pounds each ), cut up SEASONING MIX:

  2. 3 tablespoons salt or salt substitute

  3. 2 tablespoons onion powder

  4. 1 tablespoon paprika

  5. 2 teaspoons garlic powder

  6. 1-1/2 teaspoons chili powder

  7. 1-1/2 teaspoons pepper

  8. 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric Pinch ground red pepper SAUCE:

  9. 2 cups ketchup

  10. 3 tablespoons brown sugar

  11. 2 tablespoons dried minced onion

  12. 2 tablespoons thawed orange juice concentrate

  13. 1 tablespoon Seasoning Mix

  14. 1/2 teaspoon Liquid Smoke, optional

  1. Pat chicken pieces dry so seasoning coats well; set aside. Combine seasoning mix ingredients; sprinkle generously over both sides of the chicken. Set aside 1 tablespoon mix for sauce and store leftovers in a covered container. Grill chicken, skin side down, uncovered, over medium heat for 20 minutes. Turn; grill 20 to 30 minutes more or until chicken is tender and no longer pink. Meanwhile, combine all sauce ingredients in a small bowl. During the last 10 minutes of grilling, brush chicken often with sauce. Yield: 12 servings.
