  2. 2 medium butternut squash -- peel, seed, & chop

  3. 6 tablespoons butter

  4. 6 tablespoons brown sugar

  5. 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

  6. 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  7. 1 pinch pepper

  8. 1/2 cup pecans -- chopped

  9. 2 cups corn flakes -- crushed

  10. 1 1/2 pounds apples -- peeled and sliced

  1. Steam squash until tender. Mash with 1/4 cup butter, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, and spices.

  2. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter, add corn flakes, pecans, 1/4 cup of brown sugar. Toss until coated.

  3. In greased 2 quart casserole, layer apples and squash. Top with corn flakes.

  4. Bake 12-15 minutes at 350¡F.
