  1. Recipe ingredients:

  2. 1/2 cup margarine

  3. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

  4. 2/3 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed

  5. 1 unbeaten egg

  6. 1 cup sifted all purpose flour

  7. 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar

  8. 1/2 cup chopped pecans

  9. Recipe method:

  10. Let margarine soften in mixing bowl.

  11. Add the vanilla, brown sugar and egg then beat until smooth.

  12. Sift flour with cream of tartar.

  13. Add to first mixture along with nuts and mix well.

  14. Measure out level teaspoons of dough on greased baking sheets.

  15. 325 degrees F for 12 to 15 minutes. Remove while hot.
