  1. 1 cup sugar

  2. 1 cup cooking oil

  3. 1 egg

  4. 1 cup mild molasses

  5. 1/2 cup milk

  6. 2 teaspoons baking soda

  7. 5 1/2 cups flour

  8. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  1. Instructions Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix together the sugar, oil, and egg. Slowly stir in molasses, beating until all the ingredients are well-blended and smooth. In a separate bowl, stir together the milk and baking soda. Beat in to molasses mixture. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the remaining dry ingredients. Beat about 1/3 of dry mixture into the molasses. Once the dry ingredients are mixed well, add another third until all dry ingredients are used. Separate dough into two sections. Roll one section on a piece of wax paper or floured baking pan to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out using a cookie cutter and place cookies on a baking sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.
