  1. For the bhel

  2. 2 cups of puffed rice

  3. cup sev, which can be prepared from this omapodi/sev recipe

  4. cup of papads broken (You can use any kind of chips)

  5. 1 onion finely chopped

  6. 1 tomato, chopped

  7. 1/2 cup boiled chopped potatoes

  8. 2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped

  9. salt to taste

  10. Green Chutney

  11. 2 cups coriander leaves

  12. 1/2 cup mint leaves

  13. 5-6 green chilies

  14. 1 tbs lime juice

  15. Salt to taste

  16. Grind the above items to a fine paste by adding required water

  17. Tamarind Chutney

  18. 3/4 cup tamarind water (lemon size tamarind soaked in water)

  19. 1/2 cup dates deseeded

  20. 3/4 cup jaggery

  21. 1/2 tsp cumin powder

  22. 1/4 tsp salt

  23. In a pan add the tamarind water, seedless dates, jaggery, cumin powder, and salt. Bring them to boil and cook for 8- 10 minutes. Cool the mixture and grind it.

  1. Mix puffed rice, sev, and broken papadi in a large bowl.

  2. Add onions, tomato, boiled potato, add required green and tamarind chutney.

  3. Mix well and garnish with sev and cilantro leaves. Serve immediately :)

  4. Note:

  5. These chutneys can be stored (refrigerated) for 2 days in an air tight container.
