  7. 1 c Butter or margarine

  8. 2 c Sugar

  9. 4 Eggs -- unbeaten

  10. 4 Sq unsweet chocolate -- melted

  11. 1 t Vanilla

  12. 1 c Chopped pecans

  13. 1 3/4 c All-purpose flour

  14. --CHOCOLATE ICING--

  15. 1 Sq unsweet chocolate -- melted

  16. 1 c Powdered sugar -- sifted

  17. 1 tb Butter -- softened

  18. 1/2 ts Vanilla

  19. 2 tb Milk or water

  20. A GOOD, BASIC BROWNIE RECIPE Cream butter until

  21. soft and fluffy; gradually beat in sugar; creaming

  22. well. Add eggs, one at a time, and melted chocolate,

  23. mixing thoroughly. Add vanilla. Gradually beat in

  24. flour which has been sifted. Stir in chopped nuts.

  25. (walnuts are also good). Turn batter into a greased

  26. 350F. degrees for 25 minutes.

  27. Mix all ingredients for icing together in a bowl.

  28. When brownies are cool, spread with chocolate icing.

  29. Variation: Brownies made in blender: Place eggs,

  30. vanilla, soft butter, sugar and melted chocolate in

  31. blender container, cover, switch on the motor, and blend until smooth, using a rubber spapula in the top

  32. of the mixture. Pour over flour in a pan, stir; add
