  1. 1 large cauliflower

  2. A cup of fresh green peas

  3. 2 finely chopped onions

  4. 1 large tomato finely chopped

  5. 1/4 tsp mustard seeds

  6. 1/4 tsp urad dal

  7. 5 curry leaves

  8. 1 tsp chopped coriander leaves

  9. 3 tbsp Oil

  10. Salt to taste

  11. Coconut paste:

  12. 1/4 cup of coconut (cut into small pieces)

  13. 1 tsp fennel seeds

  14. 1 tsp cumin seeds

  15. 1 cinnamon

  16. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  17. 1 tsp chilli powder

  1. Wash and par cook the cauliflower and peas in boiling water with salt. Drain and keep aside.

  2. Grind all the ingredients for the coconut paste finely.

  3. Crackle mustard seeds and urad dal on a hot pan.

  4. Add the curry leaves and onion and saute till the onion turns light brown.

  5. Toss in the tomato and cook for 2 - 3 mins. Add the cauliflower and peas and toss well.

  6. Now add the coconut paste and mix gently until all the cauliflower is well coated with the coconut.

  7. Add a splash of water, simmer and cook for 5 - 10 min till the cauliflower is completely done and all the excess liquid is observed. Sprinkle the chopped coriander and stir one last time.

  8. Important Pointers:

  9. •Don't cook the cauliflower completely in boiling water. Once you add the masala and start stirring it, the cauliflower will get mashed.
