  1. 1 1/3 pound(s) fresh sour cherries , pitted (4 cups)

  2. 3/4 cup(s) sugar

  3. 1/8 teaspoon(s) salt

  4. 1 cup(s) sour cream

  5. 2 tablespoon(s) brown sugar

  6. 1/2 teaspoon(s) fresh lemon juice

  7. 8 slice(s) (1-inch-thick each) pound cake , your favorite recipe or store-bought

  1. In a medium pan over medium heat, bring cherries, sugar, 1/4 cup water, and salt to a boil. Cook, stirring occasionally, until syrupy, about 10 minutes. Let cool.

  2. Heat grill to medium. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, mix sour cream, brown sugar, and lemon juice; chill until ready to use.

  3. Grill pound cake until char marks form, about 1 1/2 minutes per side. Transfer pound cake to plates and top each slice with a dollop of sour cream mixture and 1/3 cup cherry syrup.
