  1. 2 cups vegetables

  2. 2 each onions cut length-wise

  3. 2 each green chili peppers cut length-wise

  4. 1 teaspoon coriander ground

  5. 1 1/4 teaspoons salt

  6. 1 pinch turmeric powder

  7. 1 x cinnamon stick

  8. 1/2 inch long

  9. 2 each cloves

  10. 2 each cardamom seeds

  11. 2 tablespoons coconut powder

  12. 1 teaspoon poppy seeds

  13. 1/4 teaspoon garlic

  14. 1/4 teaspoon ginger*

  1. Put a reasonable sized vessel on the range and heat oil.

  2. Put cinnamon, cloves and cardamom and fry for 2-3 minutes.

  3. Add onions and green chillies and fry till onions turn brown.

  4. Add garlic and ginger paste and fry for a minute or so.

  5. Add vegetables and fry for about 3 minutes.

  6. Add water (about a cup or two).

  7. Let the vegetables and turmeric powder cook.

  8. If you are using canned or frozen vegetables skip the above step.

  9. Add coconut paste, khus-khus, salt and wait till cooked.
