  6. --ROMULAN LENTIL SOUP--

  7. 1 c Lentils

  8. 1 c Water

  9. 1/4 lb Bacon -- cut into small

  10. pieces 2 c Onion, chopped

  11. 1 Clove of garlic

  12. 2 c Carrots, shredded

  13. 1 c Celery, shredded

  14. 20 oz Water

  15. 20 oz Beef broth

  16. Salt and pepper

  17. Put the lentils in the saucepan and add 1 cup of

  18. water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for about 5

  19. minutes. Remove from the heat and let stand while you

  20. prepare the vegetables. Fry the bacon in a pot until

  21. it is browned. then add the onion and garlic and fry

  22. until the onions are golden. Add the broth, water,

  23. lentils. and the rest of the vegetables. Taste for seasoning and add salt and pepper if necessary. Simmer
