  9. 1 1/2 pounds red thin-skinned potato es (1 to 1 1/2 in. wide), scrubbed and cut in half

  10. 3 turnip s (2 1/2 to 3 in. wide), rinsed, peeled, and cut into eighths

  11. 1/2 cup dry white wine

  12. 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch

  13. 1/4 cup whipping cream
