  1. 1 c Sugar

  2. 3 Eggs; well beaten

  3. 1 c Flour

  4. 1/4 ts Salt

  5. 1 ts Baking powder

  6. 1 ts Vanilla

  7. 1/2 c Dates; pitted, chopped

  8. 1 c Pecans; chopped Powdered sugar

  1. Slowly add sugar to eggs and beat well. Add flour, sifted with salt and baking powder, and beat until smooth. Stir in vanilla, and add dates and pecans. Pour into 9 x 13 in. pan lined with greased waxed paper. Bake in 350 deg. oven about 30 min. While warm, cut into 1 x 4 bars and roll in powdered sugar. Store in air-tight container. Better if left to season for several weeks.
