  2. PATTY ANN'S STRAWBERRY TARTS

  6. 1/2 c Butter

  7. 1 c Sugar

  8. 3 c Flour

  9. 2 Eggs

  10. 1/2 ts Baking Powder

  11. 1 c Pecans -- finely chopped

  12. 1/2 ts Salt

  13. 1 TB Brandy Or Rum Flavoring

  14. 1 jar Smucker's® Strawberry

  15. : Preserves -- (18 0z. jar)

  16. Oven 350 F.

  17. In large bowl of mixmaster put sugar, butter, eggs and flavoring. Beat until light and fluffy. Remove from

  18. mixer and by hand, work in dry ingredients and nuts.

  19. Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan and dust with flour. Press

  20. 2/3 of dough into pan. Spread the jar of preserves

  21. over this. Lattice remaining dough in strips over

  22. 350 for 25-30 minutes. Let

  23. cool in pan until lukewarm, so that hot preserves

  24. won't burn you when you cut cookies into squares.

  25. Store in tin box between layers of wax paper. Can be

  26. frozen. TO LATTICE DOUGH:

  27. Roll small pieces between palms or on lightly floured

  28. surface. You will have to piece strips. You can't

  29. roll them all in one piece. Keep hands or fingertips

  30. floured to make strips.

  31. NOTE:

  32. You may substitute Smucker's® Raspberry Preserves.

  33. I could never find raspberry preserves around

  34. Christmas.
