  1. 1 pound prunes -- pitted

  2. 8 ounces dried apricots

  3. 8 ounces dried pears

  4. 3 cups water

  5. 1/2 cup sugar

  6. 1/2 vanilla bean

  7. 2 lemon zest strips --

  8. 2" each 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  1. Preparation : Combine all ingredients together in the crock pot and cook on low until the fruit is tender, 6 to 8 hours. Serve warm or at room temperature.
