  1. 1 c Sugar

  2. Honey

  3. 1 tb Lemon juice

  4. 1 ts Finely shredded lemon peel

  5. 2 tb Honey

  6. 1/2c Milk

  7. 1/2c Almonds

  8. 1/2c Poppy seed

  9. 1/2ts Salt

  10. 1 ts Baking soda

  11. 2 1/2c All-purpose flour*

  12. 1 ts Vanilla

  13. 2 Eggs

  14. softened 1/4c Margarine or butter,

  15. 1/2c Shortening

  16. Poppy seed

  1. + These cookies, Poppy Seed-Filled Ravioli Cookies, get their name from.

  2. 1/3 cups.

  3. Mix sugar, shortening, margarine, eggs and vanilla.

  4. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt.

  5. Divide dough into 4 equal parts.

  6. Cover and refrigerat 2 hours.

  7. Place 1/2 cup poppy seed, the almonds, milk, 2 tablespoons honey, the lemon peel and lemon juice in blender or food processor.

  8. Cover and blend, or process, until liquid is absorbed.

  9. Heat oven to 400 degrees.

  10. Roll one part of dough into rectangle, 12 X 8 inches, on lightly floured surface.

  11. Cut dough into 12 rectangles, each 3 X 2 inches.

  12. Place 1 teaspoon poppy seed mixture on one end of each rectangle.

  13. Using metal spatula or knife dipped into flour, carefully fold dough over filling.

  14. Pinch edges to seal.

  15. Press edges with fork dipped into flour.

  16. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

  17. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until cookies are light brown.

  18. Brush warm cookies with honey.

  19. Sprinkle with poppy seed.

  20. Remove to rack to cool.

  21. Repeat with remaining dough.

  22. DOZEN COOKIES; 95 CALORIES PER COOKIE.
