  1. 2 1- 1/4 cups rolled oats put through food chopper

  2. 2 tablespoons corn oil

  3. 2/3 cup scalded milk

  4. 2 tablespoons corn syrup, Red or Blue Label

  5. 1- 1/2 cups bread flour

  6. 1 tablespoons Argo or Kingsford's Cornstarch

  7. 3 teaspoons baking powder

  8. 3/4 teaspoon salt

  1. Instructions Put the oatmeal in a small mixing bowl, add the corn oil, corn syrup and hot milk. When cold, add the remaining ingredients sifted together. Mix, turn onto a floured board and divide into two portions. Roll each into a round cake, one-half inch thick, cut into four triangles, bake on a hot griddle oiled with corn oil, turning only once. Allow about fifteen minutes for the cooking. Serve with butter, plain or with any marmalade or jelly.
