  7. 1 package active dry yeast

  8. 1/4 cup warm water -- (110-115 degrees)

  9. 1/2 cup butter or margarine -- melted

  10. 1 cup milk

  11. 1 egg plus

  12. 2 egg yolks

  13. 1/4 cup sugar

  14. 3/4 teaspoon salt

  15. 1/4 teaspoon each: ground mace and lemon peel --

  16. 3 cups all-purpose flour --

  17. 3 to 3-1/2 cups

  18. additional melted butter or POPPY SEED FILLING:

  19. 3/4 cup poppy seeds

  20. 1/2 cup water

  21. 1/2 cup milk

  22. 1/4 cup raisins

  23. 1/2 cup sugar

  24. 2 teaspoons butter or margarine

  25. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  26. 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  27. 1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs

  28. Confectioner's sugar glaze --

  29. 7 ingredients and cups of flour; beat until smooth. Add enough remaining flour

  30. to form a soft dough. Turn onto a floured board; knead until smooth and elastic,

  31. about 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to grease

  32. top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. Punch
