  7. 2 crust plain pastry

  8. 5 cups fresh peaches peeled and sliced

  9. 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  10. 2/3 cup sugar

  11. 1 tablespoon flour

  12. 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

  13. 2 tablespoons butter

  14. Line a 9-inch pie pan with pastry. Fill pan completely with peaches.

  15. Sprinkle lemon juice on top. Mix sugar, flour and nutmeg together and sprinkle over all. Dot with butter cut in small pieces. Cover with top crust

  16. and press edges together. Cut slits in top crust for steam to escape. Bake

  17. 450 degrees for 10 minutes, reduce heat to

  18. 350 degrees and continue baking

  19. 45 minutes. Cool for 30 minutes before serving. Especially good

  20. topped with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
