  1. Chocolate -1

  2. 1 c Butter or margarine

  3. 4 Eggs

  4. 2 c Sugar

  5. 1 c Flour

  6. 1/2 t Salt

  7. 1 t Vanilla extract

  8. 1/2 c Chocolate morsels, melted

  9. 4 c Powdered sugar - sifted

  10. 1/2 c Butter or margarine- melted

  11. 1/4 c Half and half

  12. 1/4 c Creme de Menthe - green

  13. 1 c Walnuts - finely chopped

  14. 10 minutes. Beat eggs at medium speed of an electric mixer until thick and lemon colored; gradually add sugar, beating well. Add flour, salt, vanilla, and chocolate mixture; beat at low speed

  15. 1 minute. Spoon mixture into a lightly greased and floured

  16. 13x9x2 inch pan. Bake at

  17. 350F for 25 to 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool

  18. 10 minutes; spread Creme de Menthe Frosting (see below) over top. Chill at least

  19. 4 hours. Drizzle melted chocolate over frosting or pipe in desired design using metal tip No

  20. 1/3 or 4. Cut into bars immediately. Remove from pan, and chill at least

  21. 1 hour. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator. Yield

  22. 4 dozen. --

  23. Creme de Menthe Frosting --

  24. Combine all ingredients except walnuts in a mixing bowl; beat at high speed of an electric mixer until smooth. Stir in walnuts. Yield: enough for 4 dozen bars. From the Southern Living Cookbook
