  1. 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  2. 2 tsp. ground ginger

  3. 1 tsp. baking soda

  4. 3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon

  5. 1/2 tsp. ground cloves

  6. 1/4 tsp. kosher salt

  7. 3/4 cup butter, at room temperature

  8. 1 cup granulated sugar

  9. 1 egg

  10. 1 tbsp. water

  11. 1/4 cup molasses For the Glaze:

  13. 1/4 cup milk

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine the flour, ginger, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and salt and set aside 2. In a large bowl, mix together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, then stir in the water and molasses.

  2. Slowly stir the dry ingredients into the molasses mixture. Shape 2 tbsp. of the dough into balls and place them onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

  3. Make the frosting by whisking together the milk and powdered sugar.
