  8. 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate

  9. 1 quart milk -- scalded

  10. 2 cups bread crumbs --see note

  11. 1/3 cup sugar

  12. 1/4 cup butter -- melted

  13. 2 large eggs -- slightly beaten

  14. 1/4 teaspoon salt

  15. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  16. It is best to use crumbs from homemade bread. Preheat oven to 325

  17. degrees. Butter a 1 1/2 or 2 quart baking dish. Break the chocolate

  18. into bits and melt in the scalded milk, stirring until smooth. Add

  19. the bread crumbs and set aside to cool. When lukewarm, add remaining

  20. ingredients. Mix well, pour into prepared dish and bake for about 50

  21. minutes or until set. Soft as a pillow with a full, light,

  22. chocolate-pudding taste. Serve this with real whipped cream, not the
