  1. 1 lb Italian sausage, mild

  2. 1-inch slices 1 Onion, lg. -chopped

  3. 2 Apples; peeled and quartered

  4. 1 cn Sauerkraut,

  5. 27oz; undrained

  6. 1 c water

  7. 1/2 c Brown sugar; packed

  8. 2 ts Caraway seed

  1. In a skillet, cook sausage and onion until sausage is brown and onion is tender; drain.

  2. Stir in apples, sauerkraut, water, brown sugar and caraway seed.

  3. Transfer to a 2-1/2 quart baking dish.

  4. Cover and bake at 350F for 1 hour.

  5. Garnish with snipped parsley if desired.
