  1. 1 pkg. yeast

  2. 3 Tbsp. warm water

  3. 1/2 cup shortening

  4. 1 tsp. salt

  5. 1 cup hot water

  6. 2 egg s, beaten

  7. 1/2 cup sugar

  8. 4 1/2 cups all purpose flour , divided

  1. Combine yeast in warm water; set aside. In food processor, combine shortening, salt, and hot water; allow to stand until lukewarm. In large bowl, beat eggs with sugar, then add yeast mixture and shortening mixture, as well as 2 cups flour. Stir until combined, then add an additional 2 to 2½ cups flour (until dough is only slightly sticky). Place dough into greased bowl, then turn greased side up. Place in refrigerator overnight to rise. Remove from refrigerator 3 hours before needed, then shape as desired. Let rise for 3 hours, or until double in size. Bake at 400° for about 6 minutes, or until golden brown.
