  2. Title: PHILADELPHIA STICKY BUNS

  3. Categories: Breadmaker, Brunch

  4. Yield: 12 rolls

  5. 3 c Bread flour

  6. 1/4 c Sugar

  7. 6 tb Butter

  8. 1 ts Salt

  9. 3 tb Powdered buttermilk

  10. 7/8 c Water

  11. 2 ts Active dry yeast

  12. 1 1/2 ts Quick rising yeast.

  13. 1 1/2 ts Cardamom;

  14. --BOTTOM ICING--

  15. 1/2 c Pecans; whole

  16. 1/2 c Butter

  17. 1/2 c Brown sugar

  18. You can make the dough in an automatic breadmaker.

  19. This dough also make excellent cinnamon rolls.

  20. 2. Roll out dough into a rectangle about 1/4 to 1/8

  21. inch thick depend on how many and how big you want to

  22. make them.

  23. 3. Take 1 TBL of soft butter and spread all around

  24. leaving 1/4 inch of edge. Then sprinkle cinnamon all

  25. around as much as you want

  26. 4. Next take a 1/2 cup brown sugar and sprinkle it on

  27. the dough. You can also add the same amount of

  28. chopped nuts and raisins.

  29. 5. Roll up into a log and cut off about 1-1/2 to 2

  30. inches and place in a lightly greased pan. Let rise 45

  31. minutes.

  32. 6. Bake 15 to twenty minutes at 350. when somewhat

  33. cooled drizzle on a glaze of powdered sugar, butter,

  34. vanilla extract and milk then devour.

  35. 1: this is the technique I used; cutting the

  36. equal rolls. I did use raisins as well ASSEMBLY: I

  37. used a nine inch shallow quiche pan; butter it very

  38. well, all over sides too. Place the pecans in the

  39. bottom of the pan and sprinkle with the brown sugar.

  40. Put the rolls on top of this mixture and bake at 375

  41. degrees for about 20 minutes...WATCH carefully because

  42. ovens vary. Cool for EXACTLY 5 minutes and turn

  43. out...HEAVENLY!!! You can add the glaze but that is

  44. too much...and no self respecting Philly sticky bun

  45. would have a glaze. ENJOY!

  46. 2: Mort has always craved Philadelphia Sticky

  47. buns; the REAL THING...and I suddenly had a light bulb

  48. go off a year ago. With thanks to Diana Lewis; (for the GREATEST sweet roll recipe) and my daughter Lois

  49. for her Upside Apple pie, I took the two and put them

  50. together. VOILA the best sticky buns since we left

  51. home and EASY!

  54. Enjoy!!

  55. Elaine/Framingham.Ma, who has to rush, because she has 2 little

  56. grandgirls to get off to school this morning and a 4 year old to keep

  57. busy all day. I guess this is what Bubbe's are for, <g>!
