  4. 1 lb fresh green beans, sliced lengthwise

  5. 1/4 c reserved green bean cooking water

  6. 3 T vinegar

  7. 3 T vegetable oil

  8. 2 onions, thinly sliced

  9. 1/2 t dried dillseed

  10. 1 t sugar

  11. Cook beans in boiling salted water until just tender. Reserve 1/4

  12. cup of the cooking liquid and drain off the rest. Prepare sauce

  13. by combining vinegar, oil, reserved vegetable stock, onions, dill,

  14. and sugar, stir until blended. Pour mixture over beans, marinate

  15. several hours before serving.
