  1. 1 cup butter-flavored shortening

  2. 1 cup chunky peanut butter

  3. 1 cup sugar

  4. 1 cup packed brown sugar

  5. 2 eggs

  6. 3 tablespoons milk

  7. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  8. 2 cups all-purpose flour

  9. 2 cups quick-cooking oats

  10. 1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda

  11. 1 teaspoon baking powder

  12. 1/2 teaspoon salt

  13. 1 cup crushed cornflakes

  1. In a large bowl, cream the shortening, peanut butter and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in milk and vanilla. Combine the flour, oats, baking soda, baking powder and salt; gradually add to creamed mixtures. Stir in the cornflakes. Drop by tablespoonfuls 3 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Flatten slightly. Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool. Yield: about 5 dozen.
