  1. 6 Beef tenderloin steaks - cut 1" thick

  2. 1 tablespoon 15ml McCormick Coarse Ground Black Pepper

  3. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml McCormick Garlic Salt

  4. 3 tablespoons 45ml Butter or margarine

  5. 1 teaspoon 5ml All-purpose flour

  6. 1/4 cup 59ml Beef broth

  7. 2 tablespoons 30ml Cognac

  1. Recipe Instructions Season steaks on both sides with pepper and garlic salt. Press pepper into meat. Melt butter in 10-inch skillet. Saute steaks 4 to 5 minutes on each side. Remove from skillet and keep warm on platter. Add flour and flavor base to skillet and stir to mix well. Add hot water and Cognac and stir. Heat to boil, spoon over steaks, and serve immediately. This recipe yields 6 servings, 1 steak each.
