  1. 1/2 c Whipping Cream

  2. 1/2 c Granulated Sugar

  3. 2 tb Water

  4. 20 Fresh Dates, medium sized

  5. 1 tb Poppy seeds, toasted

  1. Servings: 4 * The 20 medium sized fresh dates should be pitted and left whole.

  2. In a small saucepan, heat the cream until warm or place in a small glass measure and microwave at High for 1 minute.

  3. Set aside.

  4. In another small saucepan, dissolve the sugar in the water; bring to a boil over high heat and cook until golden in color, about 3 - 4 minutes.

  5. Remove from heat; add the warm cream.

  6. Bring mixture to a boil and cook for about 3 minutes, stirring constantly until thickened and caramel-like in consistency.

  7. Arrange dates on dessert plates; spoon some of the hot sauce over and sprinkle with poppy seeds.

  8. Add a dollop of whipped cream and serve.

  9. Serves 4.
