  1. 1 (1/4-ounce) package active dry yeast or 2 1/2 teaspoons 1/2 cup apple juice

  2. 2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour

  3. 1/2 cup whole wheat flour

  4. 1 teaspoon salt

  5. 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  6. 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

  7. 1/8 teaspoon baking soda

  8. 1 cup apple pie filling

  9. 1/3 cup chopped dried apple

  10. 1/3 cup sour cream

  11. 1 tablespoon butter

  12. 1/2 cup raisins

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm apple juice. In a bowl, combine flour, whole wheat flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, apple pie filling, chopped dried apples, sour cream, butter, and raisins. Stir in the yeast mixture and knead to form a soft dough. Place in a greased bowl, turning once to coat, cover, and allow to rise until doubled; about 1 1/2 hours. Punch down; form in a greased loaf pan, and allow to rise again; about 1 hour. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top is browned.
