  1. Chickpea flour 1 cup

  2. Chopped onion 1/4 cup

  3. Chopped Potato 1/4 cup

  4. Oregano seeds 1 tsp.

  5. Chopped ginger 1 tsp.

  6. Baking Powder 1/2 tsp.

  7. Oil for deep frying 2 cups

  8. Yoghurt 1 cup.

  9. Chickpea flour 1/4 cup

  10. Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp

  11. Red chilli Powder 1 tsp.

  12. Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp.

  13. Fenugreek Seeds 1/4 tsp

  14. Asafetida a pinch and Oil 2 tbsp

  15. 2 dry red Chilli

  16. Salt to taste

  1. .In a bowl combine all the ingredients for pakoras with ½ cup water.

  2. Heat oil in a deep sauce pan and drop teaspoonful of the batter and fry until golden brown. Drain and keep aside.

  3. In another large bowl mix the yoghurt with 3 cups of water, chickpea flour, turmeric powder red chilli powder and salt and keep aside.

  4. Heat oil in a saucepan add the mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds dry red chilli and Asafetida, add the yoghurt mixture and simmer for 10 minutes.

  5. Add the fried Pokoras, simmer for another 5 minutes. Serve hot with rice.
