  1. 200g linguine

  2. olive oil

  3. 1 onion , finely sliced

  4. 1 large steak , about 250g, any type will do, fat trimmed off and thinly sliced

  5. 4 tomatoes , roughly chopped

  6. a handful of black olives

  7. 2 handfuls of basil leaves

  1. Cook the linguine following the packet instructions.

  2. Meanwhile, heat a little oil and fry the onion for about 5 minutes until it browns, add the steak and brown all over.

  3. Add the tomatoes and cook until they start to break down, season and add the olives.

  4. Toss the mixture through the linguine along with the basil.
