  1. 1/4 c Slivered almonds

  2. 4 ts Sugar

  3. 1/2 ts Grated orange peel

  4. 1 Pound carrots

  5. 6 to 7 medium

  6. 1/2 c Dried figs, cut into fourths

  7. 1 tb Margarine or butter, Softened

  1. A sweet, subtle combination of figs and caramelized almonds makes these.

  2. Cook almonds, sugar and orange peel over low heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is melted and almonds are coated; cool.

  3. Break almonds apart; reserve.

  4. Prepare and cook carrot slices as directed - except add figs.

  5. Mix all ingredients.

  6. SERVINGS (ABOUT 3/4 CUP EACH); 190 CALORIES PER SERVING.
