  6. 2 ea Eggs

  7. 1/2 c Melted butter

  8. 1 c Sugar

  9. 2 oz Unsweetened chocolate melted

  10. 1/2 ts Peppermint extract

  11. 1/2 c Flour

  12. 1/2 c Ground almonds

  13. --PEPPERMINT FILLING--

  14. 2 tb Butter

  15. 1 tb Heavy cream

  16. 1 c Confectioners sugar (sifted)

  17. 1 ts Peppermint extract

  18. --FROSTING--

  19. 1 oz Semi-sweet chocolate

  20. 1 tb Butter

  21. 1. Preheat oven to 350. Grease a 9 inch square baking

  22. pan. Beat eggs. Add melted butter and sugar. Beat

  23. well. Add melted chocolate and peppermint. Beat. Add

  24. flour and nuts. Mix well. Pour ingredients into prepared pan and bake 25-30 minutes until toothpick

  25. inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from oven

  26. and set on trivet or rack to cool.

  27. 2. Prepare filling. In small bowl, thoroughly blend

  28. butter and cream. Add sugar and peppermint. Mix well.

  29. Spread evenly over cooled baked layer.

  30. 3. Prepare frosting. Melt chocolate and butter

  31. together in small pan over low heat.

  32. 4. When filling is completely firm, spread frosting

  33. mixture on top.

  34. 5Refrigerate until chocolate is firm. Cut into by 2 1/4 inch strips.
