  5. 1/4 c Sweet butter

  6. 8 oz Sour cream*

  7. 1 lb Ham, cubed

  8. 16 oz Ripened tomatoes, chopped

  9. 2 c Elbow macaroni**

  10. 1 oz Maggi Seasoning OR -1 tb Soy sauce

  11. 1/2 ts Salt, optional

  12. 1/2 ts Pepper

  13. 2 Green onions, chopped

  14. *light if desired (don't use non-fat)

  15. **cooked al Dente (be careful not to overcook)

  16. Brown butter in Dutch oven. Add remaining ingredients

  17. except onions, salt (if using) and pepper. Mix well.

  18. 10 minutes. Add onions and cook

  19. minutes more.

  20. Melinda's notes: I got this from an old Polish

  21. acquaintance long ago. I don't know how original

  22. Polish it is since it uses Maggi Seasoning, which I

  23. think is German, but we like it. Maggi Seasoning comes

  24. in a square-ish brown bottle and can be purchased in

  25. the gourmet section of your supermarket. I always omit

  26. the salt. The original recipe called for 4 oz. sour

  27. cream, but I like it with 8 oz. I usually use the

  28. light sour cream, but the non-fat doesn't do well, it

  29. seems to just dissolve and become tasteless.
