  2. 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

  3. 1/2 cup water

  4. 1 small sliced shallot

  5. 1/2 tsp cracked black pepper to taste

  6. salt to taste

  1. Add ingredients to a saucepan and simmer on medium heat until reduced by 1/3 (you'll have about 1 cup remaining). Strain and serve hot, warm, or room temperature.
