  17. In s med-size bowl, beat together the 1/4 c butter and the 1/2 c sugar until blended, then beat in egg. Sift

  18. together flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Stir

  19. dry ingredients into butter mixture alternately with

  20. milk, blending well after each addition. Spoon

  21. 1 1/2 muffin cups, filling

  22. 2/3 to

  23. 3/4 full. Bake in a

  24. 375 oven until golden grown
