  1. 2tbsp oil

  2. cup of chopped onions

  3. 2 small chopped potatoes

  4. cup of peas

  5. cup cauliflowers

  6. 1 cup of basmati rice

  7. cup of chopped carrots

  8. Water

  9. Spices:

  10. 3tsp salt

  11. 1/2tsp red chili powder

  12. 1tsp cumin seeds

  13. 1 big black cardamom

  14. 1 stick of cinnamon

  15. 3-4 black cloves

  1. Pour 2tbsp oil in a heavy bottom pot and make hot

  2. Add 1tsp cumin seeds, 1 big black cardamom (open it out), 1 stick of cinnamon, 3-4 black cloves and ½ cup of chopped onions

  3. Fry the onions and to fry it faster add 3tsp of salt

  4. Add 1/2tsp red chili powder, 1/2tsp turmeric powder and mix well

  5. Add 2 small chopped potatoes, ½ cup of green peas, 1 cup of chopped cauliflower, ½ cup chopped carrots

  6. Stir them altogether for 2 minutes

  7. Cover them for couple of minutes

  8. Now add 1 cup of Basmati rice

  9. Pour 2 cup (double amount) of water and cover the lid until the vegetable and rice are totally cooked (10-15 minutes)

  10. Try the veg pulav with yogurt or raita
