  1. 1/2 cup Crisco; (1/2 to 3/4)

  2. cup Water

  3. 1 tablespoon Meringue powder

  4. 1 pounds Box powdered sugar

  5. cup Sifted flour

  6. teaspoon Vanilla flavoring

  1. Mix dry ingredients. Add Crisco and liquids. Mix with electric mixer until smooth and fluffy. Add food coloring if desired. Enough icing for a cake.

  2. Double recipe if more is needed for elaborate decorating.
