  1. 2 lb Coarsely Ground Chuck

  2. 4 md Onions

  3. 3 Cloves Garlic

  4. 28 oz Canned Tomatoes, Undrained

  5. 1 1/2lb Canned Pinto Beans

  6. 2 ts Salt

  7. 1/4c Chili Powder

  8. 1 tb Oregano

  9. 1 1/2ts Cayenne Pepper

  10. 5 c Cold Water

  1. + Directions : If possible use Mexican oregano and chili powder.

  2. t of each is pretty warm, so be careful. Brown beef. Drain, leaving a small amount of drippings. Chop onions into small pieces. Crush garlic. Saute onions and garlic until the onions are transparent. Add oregano, salt and beef. Stir well. Remove from heat. In a large pot, add the above meat mixture to the pot. Pour the tomato juice into the pot. Cut the tomatos into pieces and add to the pot. Add the beans, with juice, chili powder and cayenne pepper, stir well. Place over heat, add cold water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, cook uncovered for 1-1/2 hours or longer. The juice of this chili becomes thick and creamy.
