  1. Basmati rice 700 gms.

  2. Butter 115 gms.

  3. Saffron (thread crushed) 2 tsp.

  4. Cardamom 4 nos.

  5. Cloves 5 nos.

  6. Cinnamon 3 sticks

  7. Onions finely chopped 2 nos.

  8. Green Pepper (cored seeded and finally chopped) 2 nos.

  9. Red Pepper (cored and finely chopped) 2 nos.

  10. Vegetable stock, 1.4 liters

  11. Pepper to taste

  12. Salt to taste

  1. Soak saffron in a bowl with 2 tbsp. of boiling water.

  2. Heat butter in a heavy bottom Kadai, add cardamom, cloves and cinnamon sticks and fry for 3 min.

  3. Add chopped onion and fry till golden brown.

  4. Add green and red pepper and fry for 5 min.

  5. Add rice and stir for 2 min.

  6. Add Vegetable stock, soaked saffron, salt and pepper powder and bring the rice to boil, cook in a slow flame till rice is done. Serve hot.
