  5. 3 Cooking apples, large

  6. -or 6 small -peeled, cut into chunks

  7. 1 c Maple syrup

  8. 1 Egg; beaten

  9. 1 tb Melted butter

  10. 2 ts Lemon juice

  11. 1/2 c All-purpose flour

  12. 1 ts Baking powder

  13. 1 pn -salt

  14. 1/2 c Raisins

  15. Unsweetened whipped cream

  16. - Arrange apples in a greased 8 inch square baking pan.

  17. Pour 1/2 cup of the maple syrup over apples, stirring

  18. to coat well, and spread in an even layer.

  19. In a bowl, combine beaten egg, butter and lemon juice

  20. with remaining 1/2 cup maple syrup. In another bowl,

  21. combine flour, baking powder and salt. Stir the dry

  22. ingredients into the egg mixture. Fold in raisins.

  23. Pour batter evenly over apple pieces. Bake in

  24. 375 deg F oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until

  25. top is lightly browned. Serve warm with unsweetened

  26. whipped cream, if desired.
