  1. 2 c onion, chopped

  2. 2 c carrots, chopped

  3. 2 c celery, chopped

  4. 2 tbs garlic, minced

  5. 1 pkg (16 oz) dried lentils, rinsed & drained

  6. 1 tsp cumin

  7. 1 tsp dried thyme

  8. 1 tsp black pepper

  9. 1 tsp salt

  10. 4 c chicken broth

  11. 1 c water

  12. 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste

  13. 1 lb smoked ham, diced

  1. Spray 5 to 6 quart slow cooker with cooking spray. - Add ingredients to slow cooker and mix together. - Cover; cook on Low heat setting 8 hours or until lentils are tender. - Stir well before serving.
