  7. 1/4 cup uncooked long-grain white rice

  8. 1 pound beef

  9. -- bite-size pieces

  10. 1 1/2 cups beef broth

  11. 3/4 cup red wine or water

  12. 1/4 cup ketchup

  13. 1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme

  14. 1 teaspoon chili powder

  15. 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard

  16. 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  1. In crockpot, combine onion, garlic, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, rice, and beef. In bowl, stir together broth, wine or water, ketchup, thyme, chili powder, dry mustard, and pepper. Pour mixture over meat and vegetables. Cover crockpot and cook 1 hour on HIGH. Stir meat and vegetables into sauce. Cook an additional 6 1/2 to 8 hours on LOW.
