  1. 336 g semisweet chocolate chips

  2. 1 cup chopped walnuts, toasted

  3. 3 cups all purpose flour, divided

  4. 2 tsp. baking soda

  5. 1 tsp. baking powder

  6. 3/4 tsp. salt

  7. 1 cup butter, room temperature

  8. 1 1/2 cups brown sugar

  9. 4 large eggs

  10. 2 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

  11. 1 cup buttermilk

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease the inside of a 9 inch tube pan and dust with sugar Stir together chocolate chips, walnuts and 2 tbsp. flour in a medium bowl. Stir together remaining flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl. Beat together butter and brown sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs 1 at a time, beating after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Gradually beat in the flour mixture alternately with the buttermilk. Fold in the chocolate chip mixture. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake cake about 55 minutes until springy to the touch. Cool the cake in the pan 15 minutes. Remove the pan and cool cake completely on a rack before slicing and serving.
