  1. 2 c. sugar

  2. 1/4 c. cornstarch

  3. 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

  4. 5 c. peeled, sliced apples

  5. 2 c. fresh cranberries

  6. 1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind

  7. Pastry for deep-dish double crust 9 pie

  8. Milk

  9. 1 tbsp. sugar

  1. Combine 2 cups sugar, cornstarch and cinnamon; set aside. Combine apples, cranberries and lemon rind; sprinkle with sugar mixture. Spoon into a pastry lined deep dish 9 inch pie plate. Roll out remaining pastry and place over fruit; press edges together to seal. Make several slits in top to allow steam to escape. Brush top with milk and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until golden brown.
