  1. 5 1/2 c Beef Broth

  2. 2 tb Cornstarch

  3. 2 c Sliced fresh Mushrooms

  4. 1/2 ts Worcestershire sauce

  5. 2 x Cloves Garlic, minced

  6. 3/4 c Quick-cooking Barley

  7. 2 tb Water

  8. 1/2 c Shredded carrot

  9. 1/8 ts Pepper

  10. 1 ts Dried basil, crushed

  11. 1/2 c Chopped Onion

  12. 1 tb Snipped fresh parsley

  1. In a large saucepan, bring beef broth to boiling, Stir in barley, onion, garlic, basil, Worcestershire sauce, and pepper.

  2. Cover and simmer about 10 minutes or till barley is nearly tender.

  3. Stir in mushrooms and carrot.

  4. Simmer, covered, for 5 minutes more.

  5. Meanwhile, in a small bowl combine cornstarch and water; stir into saucepan.

  6. Cook and stir 2 minutes more.

  7. Sprinkle with parsley.
