  1. 2 tablespoons 30ml Vegetable oil

  2. 1 tablespoon 15ml Onion - chopped (large)

  3. 1 Cumin seed

  4. 2 Cardamom seeds

  5. 1 Cinnamon

  6. 2 Bay leaves - (or 3)

  7. 2 Whole cloves

  8. 1 teaspoon 5ml Fresh ginger

  9. 1 teaspoon 5ml Fresh garlic

  10. 1 teaspoon 5ml Fresh tomato - sliced (small)

  11. 1 teaspoon 5ml Black pepper

  12. 1/2 lb 227g / 8oz Fresh spinach - chopped

  13. 2 teaspoons 10ml Salt

  14. 1 teaspoon 5ml Cumin powder

  15. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Turmeric

  16. 1 teaspoon 5ml Ground coriander

  17. 1/2 teaspoon 2 1/2ml Garam masala

  18. 1 cup 237ml Whipping cream

  19. 1 teaspoon 5ml Tomato puree

  20. Fresh cilantro leaves

  21. Paneer

  1. Heat oil in saucepan and saute chopped onion until light brown. Add cumin seed, cardamom, cinnamon stick, bay leaves, cloves, ginger, garlic, sliced tomato and black pepper and saute about 30 seconds. Add chopped spinach and saute, stirring until it begins to change color. When it goes dark green, it means it is about half cooked and still remains crunchy.

  2. Add salt, cumin, turmeric, coriander powder and garam masala. Mix well with spinach while it is sauteing. Add cream, tomato puree, cilantro and cubes of cheese (paneer). Cook it well, stirring so it doesn't scorch. When cream boils, cook another 1 1/2 minutes over high heat.
