  1. 1/4 rinsed and sorted pinot or red kidney beans , or 2 cups rinsed canned beans

  2. 1 cup TVP

  3. 7/8 cup boiling water

  4. 1/2 tsp chili powder

  5. 1 diced onion

  6. 1 Cup water

  7. 1 1/2 cups tomato sauce

  8. 1 Cup bean cooking liquid ( or one cup water )

  9. 1-2 TBS chili powder

  10. 1 tsp cumin

  11. 1 tsp salt

  12. 1 tsp sugar (opt.)

  13. pinch black or red pepper

  1. TVP Chili With Beans Pressure cook 1 1/4 rinsed and sorted pinot or red kidney beans, or 2 cups rinsed canned beans Soak 1 cup TVP in 7/8 cup boiling water stir well Add 1/2 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp salt and stir well. let soak for 10 minutes.

  2. Sauté 1 diced onion and in 2 TBS oil.

  3. Add TVP mixture and brown for a few minutes (stir constantly or it will stick) __

  4. Bring to boil all other ingredients Add the cooked beans and the TVP mixture to the tomato base and cook for 5 to 10 minutes.
